HarderFaster DJs >> Pearsall
|
Music Style: | Funky/hard/acid techno, nu-nrg, hard/acid trance, and trancecore/freeform hardcore. The lot basically, except for bouncy hard house and vocal trance. Oh, I also play classic 95-98 dnb, which was my first musical love. | From: | New York City (just moved back after 12 years in the UK, first in London, then Edinburgh, then London again). | Residencies: | Rampage, Edinburgh (defunct)
Absolution, London (defunct) | No. of records: | God knows, at least 2000 or so over the last seven years of collecting tunes | Started playing: | 1997 | All time top 3 tunes: | Tony de Vit - Are You All Ready
Wippenberg - Neurodancer
Sharkey - Product of Society (Hardcore Society mix) | Sample set: | www.sonicrampage.org/blog | Worst DJing moment: | being waaaaaay too pissed and getting kicked off the decks at a squat rave- you really need to work at it to be too fucked for one of those. | Would most like to play: | main room of Brixton Academy or anywhere outside of Britain, really | Most enjoyable set you've played: | playing at a free party in a barn in Scotland as the sun was rising; clubs are cool, but a moment like that is much more special than being in a dark sweaty room | When you're not DJing you're: | arsing about | Favourite DJ: | Karim, Dave the Drummer, Gizelle, Kev Energy, Phil Reynolds, Andy Farley, Stelvio, Chris Liebing, DJ Marky, Andy C, Brisk plus some people who aren't so well known (Skelp, Phil Zero, Dan Durnin) | Favourite Venue: | probably The Scala, lovely venue | Favourite Promotion: | Undertow or Logic or Redtrip | Favourite Producer: | impossible to pick just one | Favourite Label: | always changes | Biggest Influence: | the Roland TB-303 | Non-music pastime: | reading history and movies |
