Worst DJing moment: | Never had one! The last ten years have been great and i have gained solid and vast experience. The worst things that spring to mind and hurt me bad is when there are casualties in the club. Most memorable time... I was playing when that guy died at the Astoria and I had to try and keep spirits high and progress with the nights event during and after the medics had sorted the situation and moved the poor bloke.Bit of a quick thinking microphone work was done and I managed to keep all the people in my room in the same place and kept their attentions on me and my spoken words. We partied on but not before showing respect and acknowledgment of what happened. To this day i still get comments and appreciation about that night from the people that were there. |
Would most like to play: | The ultimate!... Space terrace, Ibiza!! We can but dream! |
Most enjoyable set you've played: | Every 3 hour set in the dakota bar, heaven. My room!! One time when I was pioneering Fevahs house party with the unique Walford vibe think it was 1999 maybe 2000 ( shit i cannot remember) but I do remember the nights goings on. It is always good to play to the fresh clubbers, by that i mean new to the music, and get a good response. But, this time my god! It went off all night! Best bit was immediately having everyones attention (trusty mic again!) And generally getting drunk with just about everyone in the room! The interaction was one million percent and we were singing and dancing in the right places, conducted with my confident direction. I am certain no-one left the room. Everything was just perfect. Perfect because it wasn't just me making the night electric, it was 'we'!! We made it electric. I know that night reached out and touched many people cos it did me and i can still see the faces of each person as i looked into their eyes around the room. That night along with a few others like it summed up what clubbing to dance music was all about and also signified what i had achieved with my music and dj'ing over the years. |
When you're not DJing you're: | Making love to a beautiful woman. |
Favourite DJ: | Don't have one at the moment. Used to have though but that was back in the 90's. All the fave DJ stuff has gone with me. I see with deeper eyes now and many DJ's can get me into their groove with a very wide range of music- house, trance, breaks, hard house the list is endless, i just love the creative elements and phsycology of social culture and of the DJ. I could tell you soon enough if there was one i did not like but only based on constructive critisism. Some DJ's unfortunateley run before they can walk and there is nothing wrong with ambition and gaining experience but a little more nurturing is needed sometimes before presenting yourself in front of paying punters with great expectations of high standards. |
Favourite Venue: | Always and everytime.... Heaven! |
Favourite Promotion: | Would be criminal not to say it... Fevah, and that is based on the best working relationship i have experienced in all my years playing the uk club scene. |
Favourite Producer: | Bini & Martini, Different Gear. |
Favourite Label: | Defected |
Biggest Influence: | Scott Mac, Steve Procter, Andy Morris, Graham Gold. All from 1994 to 1996. It was onwards and upwards from that point on. |
Drink: | Bud! , JD&Coke! Tequila gold! Monsta, monsta, monsta! |
Non-music pastime: | I go fishing quite alot have done since I was a kid. I like a bit of mountain biking. I do like to visit historical sites in the uk. |
Words of wisdom: | 'Power is nothing without control' |
Other Comments: | Never think twice about coming to say hello to me. I will always welcome you into my world and be keen to learn about yours. What worth has a mans knowledge and life if he cannot share it with those who surround him, approach him and may look upto him. (Jon Walford chptr 29. Jan2003) |
