VENETIAN MASKED BALL
Shake of the Winter Spirits for a Beautiful Spring..
Saturday 24th January sees the return of last years road block "VENETIAN MASKED BALL”. Last year’s party was literally the talk of the town, with its jaw dropping costumes, performances, décor and music and we cannot wait to do it all over again. With our new sound system, lights and lasers this year is set to top even last year’s standards. As with last year we are asking you to “don a mask and have a blast” so you can really get in on masquerade action. To see what all the fuss was about last year you can see some photos here. We have a full Italian line-up in store for you with EGG favourites and headliners, it will also be Julie Marghilano's farewell party as she is moving from London to Berlin (we'll miss you Julie!) The Italian's are also joined by WE PLAY CDs up in the loft. As usual there will be complimentary food and a cocktail from 9:30-11 so make sure you get down early!:

RICKY MONTANARI (Echoes) - Ricky was born in Rimini, he became interested in music when he was very young. He started Djing in the 80’s in some clubs of the Adriatic Riviera. He then went to work at Peter Pan in Riccione where club leaders noticed him. The beginning of his carrier coincided with the arrival of House Music. During that period Ricky moved to London to find new and rare musical productions which were impossible to find in Italy. When Ricky returned to Italy and let Italians acquainted with this new sound Montanari became one of the most important professional DJ’s of that moment. In the beginning of the 90’s he was one of the protagonist, and still is, of Echoes in Misano Adriatico and Matis in Bologna. Now Ricky’s ability is known all over the world. Not to be forgotten that while playing in clubs he also work as a remixer and producer confirming his great talent and the excellence of his work.
JULIE MARGHILANO: By far a multi-talented artist and her talents are not limited to Djing, she is also a violinist and a model, often combining these talents into a unique performance. She was born and raised in Las Vegas but has been living in Italy for the last 13 years and has recently moved to london. Julie spins minimal,deep, funky, tech influenced electronic music with bittersweet melodies, hypnotic grooves and depending on her inspiration, improvises with the violin. Julie has shared the stage with amazing artists such as BOOKASHADE,TRENTEMOLLER, PANPOT and JESSE ROSE. She has had a great career thus far and her career is growing faster than ever, in 2005 she started producing with dj/producers DAVIDE RUBERTO and the NEVERDOGS . Julie's newest track "LAST TANGO" was made in collaboration with dj producer BUTCH and is supported by international DJs such a VILLALOBOS, LUCIANO, LOCO DICE, TOBI NUMAN, ALI SWARTZ, and THOMAS SCHUMACHER to name a few. Watch out for her productions which include her on the electric violin. A truly unique dj, she brings something special to the console.
NEVERDOGS: Marko kay (Marco De Gregorio) and Tommy Paone (Tommaso Paone) are both from Catanzaro, Italy. They both started spinning and listening to different type of music at the early age of 14. Before meeting in Florence in 1999, they both had different professional experiences that gave them their technical capacities. In 2000 this duo meet up with another dj Giò Galvagno and decide to form the group NEVERDOGS. These three artists form a "live dj set" playing with three consoles at the same time and video projections. In 2003 marko and tommy start collaborating with an organization called DOCSHOW at chalet delle rose in Bologna, the historical discotech PETER PAN in Riccione and with TENAX in Florence and become residents in these three clubs. They are currently still residents at docshow. These innovative dj producers are pioneer of a new alternative sound that distinguishes them from the mass. Their music is house in continuous evolution contaminated by many types of electronic music such as minimal, deep, and techno. Their vibe is full of driving grooves and fascinating melodies that give them their unique ecletic sound. Their projects are internationally appreciated by artists the caliber of STEVE LAWLER, SATOSHI TOMIIE, G PAL, STYLOPHONIC, ALEX NERI, RICKY MONTANARI and RALF. In the summer of 2006 the neverdogs become residents at SPACE Ibiza saturday night.
LUCIANO ESSE: An expert in knowledge of music in all its expression. He started to work in 1990 with "Enjoy Group", a collective which changed the way house music was perceived in south of Italy. From 1995 till 1999 he worked with "House Essentials" and became one of the best promoters in his country. Year 2000, he joined "The Flame" crew, which is at the forefront of music reality in most of Italy. With The Flame crew he started to have the first contact with decks and vinyl’s, whilst keeping contact with the people that always followed him to the best underground parties. He moved to London in 2001 to make deeper his music knowledge and in summer 2002 he got a weekly residency on Sunday night at "Turnmills". In 2005 he started to organise his own party "ZUM" at the most underground clubs in London. In the same year John Digweed hosts him at his Kiss 100 Radio Show. At the end of 2005 he starts his residency with The Flame Music Department in Milan at super club Amnesia. In summers 2006 and 2007 he is one of the resident Djs of "Vitalik Crew" at We Love Sundays at Space in Ibiza. He has also played alongside the most famous djs such as Craig Richards, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Lucien-N-Luciano, Adam Beyer, Sven Vath, Jeff Mills, Marco Carola and many others. In October 2008 he releases "Wood EP" on Material Series, with Toni D and remix by Format B. And in January 2009 there will be more releases to come: "Liberacion EP" on Safari Electronique with Toni D and rmx by Tolga Fidan. The music he plays is techno in all its electronic shades. His constant music research never ends and allows him to play always different dj sets that find their trademark in big basslines and groovy rhythms.
TONI D: Started DJing in 1996 in his home town of Southern Italy for party promoters Love Juice. From 97 to 99 it fast became the most popular party with the help of Toni behind the decks. In 2000 he moved to Ibiza for the summer and was there to catch a new influence of music that really inspired him and led him to London. His "Ibiza experience" helped to steer him into the music scene that he is in today.. in 2005 he started to organise his own party "ZUM" at the most underground clubs in London. He has also played at Clandestino @ The End" (London), "Krisha Mira" (Moscow),"Underground" (Ibiza), oo club (Naples), Chocolate (salerno), Clink (Salerno) "Retox" (London), "Unit 7" (London), "Kubicle" (London), TDK (London),Cafe Miesna (Poland), Space (Ibiza), Circoloco afterparty (London) Spazio blanco (Palermo), Sankeys (Manchester),and many more....
