Following Together’s monumental August Bank Holiday Special with Simian Mobile Disco, The Rapture, Hot Chip, DFA Records and THAT live set from Gabriel Ananda... we continue doing what we do best on Saturday 29th September - by piecing together another intricate line-up of varying scenes and sounds to make this month’s Together as original and fresh as ever.
It’s our great honour to welcome a geniune legend of the music world to Together and indeed Turnmills for the very first time EVER! Please step forward the one and only François K. Born and raised in France, but based in New York since 1975, François Kevorkian has been spinning in the world’s leading underground clubs ever since. From those insane times at infamous New York clubs Paradise Garage, The Loft, Studio 54 and Club Zanzibar back in the day to his current day weekly residency at Deep Space (NYC), his revered Body&Soul sessions with Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell and Danny Krivit or his ‘Cosmic Twins’ sets from Detroit don Derrick May... François K’s popularity remains as strong as ever and his sets as eclectic as they come. Ranging from spaced-out techno to the deepest reggae, hip-hop, drum n’ bass, cosmic house, dubstep and trippy disco – a ‘François K set’ has no boundaries, no limits. Just good music played with style! Away from the decks François has collaborated in the studio with the likes of The Eurhythmics, Diana Ross, U2, Kraftwerk, Mick Jagger, The Cure, Pet Shop Boys, Cabaret Voltaire, Depeche Mode and many more and in 1995 he set up his own independent label, Wave Music which allowed him to find a successful outlet for his own creative endeavours. Old skool, nu skool... François K is just downright cool and the Together faithful wait with baited breath for his exclusive 3 Hour Set.
Joining the great man on main room patrol will be Maidstone house mafioso Nic Fanciulli. Tipped a few years back as the hottest new DJ/Producer of our generation; Nic’s fulfilled every bit of that promise as he now boasts a weekly residency on the Terrace at Space, Ibiza... has released multiple Renaissance compilations to great aplomb... received a Grammy Nomination for his killer remix of Tiefschwarz... is the acclaimed producer behind Skylark and Buick Project – creating his own niche sound in the process... and can be found touring the globe every single week of the year!! Most recently he’s joined forces with fellow hitman James Zabiela to form One+One – the Sasha/Digweed combo for the noughties and he’s adorned the cover of every dance magazine under the sun. Not bad for a bloke in his mid twenties!! It was back in July 2006 that Nic last graced the decks at Together, and this is the first opportunity we’ve had to get him back, such is his demand these days. Expect a 2 hour rollercoaster of squelchy acid, driving techno and deep n’ twisted tunage as Nic follows on from François from 3am. Completing this heavyweight line-up will be Together resident Justin Robertson – a legend in his own right and fellow ressie Anil Chawla, whose fresh from a recent tour of Italy and a stand out set at the Electric Gardens festival.
Over in T2, the intimate space is preparing itself for the 3rd Together outing of the year from underground stalwarts Black Rabbit who follow up their Bank Holiday mash-up at TDK and Carnival with more heads-down-hedonism. Residents Bones and Guy Williams have pulled out all the stops to bring Ewan Pearson to the club for the 1st time in zonks, alongside rising star Heidi from the Get Physical school of excellence. The boys will also hit the decks late on to get the rabbits thump thump thumping, plus Jack Digitals head honchos Audio Jackers get the night off to flying start with some slick nu-disko sounds.
Finally in T3, that lovely chap from XFM - John Kennedy, presents another cutting edge Midnight Ramble line-up featuring a very special live performance from Australia’s numero uno dance act Sneaky Sound System. The trio – MC Double D, Miss Connie and Black Angus are huge right now down in Oz, having played the Big Day Out and Good Vibrations festivals and toured with the Scissor Sisters, Jamiroquai and Robbie Williams, plus 3 sell out tours of their own. They’ve had 3 Top 20 singles, a Top 10 platinum-selling album and they’ve spent more than 3 months at No.1 in the club charts!! Nominations followed for two ARIA’s (Best Dance Release and Breakthrough Artist) and they’re set to come over to the UK for their first ever live tour!! And guess what...? Yep, you got it, you can catch the full live band making their full UK debut at Together in John’s room this month!!! Happy daze. On a DJ tip, John welcomes Diesel U-Music winner Duke Dumont to crank up the bass, plus the fast-rising duo Uncle Buck. Duke is now signed to Tiga’s Turbo label and his Fanfare track still destroys dancefloor the globe over!! Uncle Buck are residents at Ibiza Rocks and for Zane Lowe’s Home Taping brand, which tours around the world. Throw in John Kennedy for his own DJ mash-up and I’m sure you’ll agree that you’ve quite a party on your hands!! See ya down the front ;0)
