Here at Magnetix HQ, we are proud to announce our event for April and Magnetix - The Trance All Nighter, where we are extremely pleased to welcome four guest DJ's of great talent! Making their Magnetix debut's shall be Simon Rasho, Dougstar and our headliner Bailey90. We also welcome back Ed Lynam, who shall be performing a solo set at this party and who played for us at Magnetix's 6th Birthday last year.
Bailey90
Bailey90 is a name you better get used to hearing. Tipped as a star of the future by respected Artists in his field Josh Bailey has lived up to that billing and more, releasing a debut hit and follow up ‘EP’s’. Since his breakthrough smash ‘Aukena’, Portsmouth based DJ & Producer has been producing the most futuristic trance-influenced grooves and progressive EDM around with releases on Diverted Music & forthcoming music on Vendace Records. Today his current production output varies from the rave-influenced progressive house with ‘Alices Tune’ all the way through to Uplifting trance through tracks such as ‘Into the Sunset’ As full of energy as his music, his unique approach and fast-cutting DJ style has earned him rightful reputations as party starter of the highest order. In the last 12 months alone he has played Gigs all over the UK including Portsmouth, London, Brighton, Birmingham & Bournemouth and many more.
2014 is set to be the most explosive year for Bailey with more tunes and gigs lined up throughout the year. He will also be performing at Tangled Up! Music Festival in Portsmouth in April this year, where he is a Tangled Up! Resident, playing alongside DJ's Ali Wilson, Nick The Kid, Ian O' Shea, Tasso and many more!
Ed Lynam
Ed has traveled to many places showcasing his DJing abilites, such as regular appearances at The Ministry Of Sound, The Egg, Club 414, The Lightbox and Lounge 34 in London. The Simmstock festival in Twickenham. Pals in Ipswich (where he headlined). The Skane streetshow in Malmo and also the greenlight magazine car awards in Trollhattan (Both in Sweden). Ed has made many appearances also in his favourite place in the world; Ibiza. Where he has performed in venues such as Es Paradis, Play2, Itaca, Tropi Trance Bar, Tropicana’s, Akwa and Peppers 2. He also had his biggest gig to date in February 2014, where he opened up the proceedings to the ASOT650 Pre-party in Utrecht, Holland.
Ed runs the increasingly popular radio show called Adrenalin Sessions that airs on the World's biggest Trance Radio Station Afterhours.FM every 2nd Wednesday of the month.
The style of music Ed plays is a very energetic blend of Tech Trance and Hard Trance with a bit of Hard Techno thrown in for good measure! He also likes to incorporate plenty of Mashups and Old School Remixes into his sets. And the occasional scratch or 2! But on the odd occasion likes to play the "softer" side of trance if asked nicely!!
Production wise. Ed has been making a name for himself producing mashups under the alias “Dirty chef”. His mashup of “DK8 vs Underworld – Murder Was the Slippy Bass” stormed the crowds he played to in the summer 2008 as well as causing chaos on the dance floor with "Enjoy The Silence For The Weekend" in 2012 and with "Advanced Bastard" in 2013. Ed also has his 1st original single coming out in the summer of 2014, apropiately titled "Adrenalin"
In 2013 Ed Lynam joined the Elevation Audio Label/Promo along with his good friend Lewis Duggleby as Audio, Web & Technology Manager as well as been resident closing DJ for the brand. Their hard work has lead to a string of releases in the Top 100 beatport Trance chart, as well as a bi-monthly residency at Ministry of Sound, and other solo run events in London and Ibiza, which have had people flocking to check out this brand new promotion team.
Just 7 years on and Ed continues to wow the crowds with energetic interaction, wearing his Oakley Sunglasses (No matter how dark it is!) and general all out enthusiasm behind the decks! Combine that with Ed’s lethally banging tunes and you’re in for some powerful ride!!
So watch this space for DJ Ed Lynam!
Dougstar
"For the past 4 years, Douglas "Dougstar" Brennan has been building a strong reputation in the Brisbane area. His passion and musical finesse has enabled him to reach a new level of versatility and proficiency.
Doug has performed in various pubs, clubs and competitions in Queensland over the years. This includes a three year residency at the Tatts hotel in Toowoomba. Simon Rasho
Simon has been a regular on the dj scene in and around Kent for over 17 years now, playing many bars and clubs in the county. However he has best been known for his residency at 2 Venues The Somerset Arms and Grove Nightclub both based in Gravesend, where his ability to entertain the party faithful is now legendary. The music scene in these parts being very much a commercial nature with house music very much being the order of the day. However, ever since his teens Simon’s true passion has always been Trance music in all its varying guise’s from Progressive to Psy, often attending local Psy Trance events in his Late Teenage years.
Over the past few years his passion for Trance Music has been re-ignited in a big way fuelled by the modern Trance sound and the quality of Trance productions now available in this digital age and also rediscovering his passion for a good stomp at Trance Events. He therefore made the decision to fuel his passion by producing a podcast called A Trance Sunrise, showcasing the best new Trance and progressive releases. The support has been overwhelming from the start with great responses and healthy download figures from listeners around the globe.
A short stint followed bringing the show to new internet radio station youbroadcastradio and now monthly on internet based kozmik.fm this helped spread the gospel further afield and to a new live audience. The success of the podcast which now averages over 1000 downloads per week in turn has led to something that has always been a goal and that is to play at Trance Events and the opportunity arose with Trance Together to play at there 1st birthday event where they hosted the Baby Box at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London. After the success of that night he was then asked to play at the first Energy Box event with the likes of Indecent Noise, Arctic moon and Manuel Le Saux. He has now played a part in all further energy box events to date, with many world class trance DJ’s and producers. Including opening and closing sets at the Energy Box 5 (12 hour event), and once again took part in Energy Box 6 alongside none other than Solarstone. Simon has also been a part of the birth of the Ibiza Trance Family Events, where he is now a resident at there events and pre parties. Dates have also been secured with new promoters including Elevation Audio, CTRL, and Remedy and has recently made a very successful debut at London's hugely popular Trance Sanctuary alongside Bryan Kearney, Arctic Moon and Craig Connelly. With the promise of future bookings such was the success of his set. With his profile raised to a new level an offer to host a show on the worlds biggest Trance Radio station Afterhours.fm soon came and the birth of a new show called A Trance Eclipse. Aimed more at the Psy and Tech side of trance Simon is now able to fully show his appreciation for all styles of Trance via both Radio shows.
Now with plans now to kick start production tutorials with the red hot Trance Producer Adam Ellis in order to make the next progressive step in the trance world, and with his feet well and truly staying firmly on the ground the future is looking healthy for Simon.
Joining them shall be Magnetix Residents Lorenzo Barrero and Dean Zone
