The Gallery follows up last week’s MOS Birthday Weekender with another unmissable night of electronic beats as we throw the doors open in typically ‘open-minded’ fashion to Darren Emerson, Hybrid and Dave Seaman in the Box on Friday 19th September, whilst the Bar plays host to Guy J’s Bedrock album launch party alongside fellow proggers John Quivver Graham, Jamie McHugh and Tim Davison.
Darren Emerson is the Underwater Records head-honcho and former Underworld member who for more than a decade has been at the very top of his game. Whether making music himself or releasing it via his label, Darren remains as influential as ever and a very popular figure on the tour circuit. It’s been a very long time indeed since Darren last played at The Gallery (certainly never before at MOS) and so we jumped at the chance to get him back in the Gallery groove. Backing him up will be Hybrid – who’ve forged a reputation as leading producers which have seen them collaborate with artists such as New Order's Peter Hook, The Pretender's Chrissie Hynde and the 90-piece Russian Federal Orchestra, as well as remixing over 40 artists including Radiohead, Alanis Morissette, Carl Cox, BT, The Future Sound Of London and Moby. Famed for classic cuts like ‘Finished Symphony’, the Hybrid duo launched their new CD to a huge reception alongside BT in late July and we couldn’t wait any longer to get them back. Believe us, when we say that their 12 – 2am set was quite simply one of those ‘must see’ sets and blew us all away. We invited the chaps back straight away and we’re delighted that they’re returning to do it all over again! Another one of The Gallery legends who continues to be at the forefront of the scene is the ever busy and popular, Dave Seaman. A prog pioneer and all round nice chap, Dave has been touring the world including his much talked about appearance at Glastonbury and his continued record label success with Audiotherapy. A regular at Gallery for years and the man who rocked the Box with his end of night set at our massive prog fest in June with fellow proggers Nick Warren and Satoshi Tomiie may we suggest that you do not miss him. Gavyn Mytchel rounds this week’s proceedings off in the Box with his usual devilish devastation whilst James Edwards & Dave Minns are getting us all warmed up. Ooh cant wait!
Guy J is this week’s headliner in the Bar as part of his Bedrock Album Launch Party. The Israeli producer is releasing his debut album entitled Esperanza which features a bonus CD featuring club mixes of several singles as well as two previously unreleased tracks, "Aftertouch" and "Avalanche." Guy's recent remix of Sasha's "Mongoose" has been a huge tune and we are excited to be showcasing this talent and look out for the first three initial singles, "Under Pressure," "Geko," and "Mirko," over the coming months. Joined by John 'Quivver' Graham who is a popular guest with us here at The Gallery brings his Quivver sound to the Bar once more. Following his superb album earlier in the year the man with more guises than who knows what is back to do his thing and will be a perfect accompaniment to Guy J whilst rising star Jamie McHugh, fresh from mixing a new CD for Emerson’s Underwater gets in on the action as well. Tim Davison launched his debut album ‘A Long Way from Home’ earlier in the year and makes a welcome return to the Bar. Fans of the prog sound will not be disappointed whilst Jody Hannan is tasked with getting it all going ahead of this massive Bar line up.
The lounge welcomes a return from Solid Kiss who invite along with leading lady Moni Viking Princessother London talent in the form of Scott D'Souza, SoLow, Sound System, Scott Ferris, Sean Troyand Mikey Fisher.Whilst regular faces Plastic Fondu are back once more in the intimate surroundings of the Lounge with an all star cast including the Mismatch DJs, Matt Dahl & Markus Buhmann, Rokit, Nick Fratarolli, Nick Brickell and Mikey 4Getz
