Over the past god knows how many years, Raymondo has been a stalwart of the UK’s trance scene appearing at nearly every major party in the country. When he wasn’t taking the crowd to new found heights of aural bliss he was capturing the heat of the moment perfectly with his camera or working hard on one of his stable of websites.
Many of you will also have fond memories of one of London’s first and longest running Thursday night trance and hard dance parties. Over five years at Sids DJs from across the country came to entertain, hearts were broken, morals lost and amongst it all (of course) the pole got a good workout.
It’s fair to say then that Ray was one of the hardest working people on the scene.
Now the time has come for him to receive his gold clock, hang up his headphones and take it easy. But before all that there’s time for one last party, a swansong if you will.
On Thursday 25th of May 2006, we’ll be taking over the luscious, brand spanking new Epicurian Lounge in Farringdon (opposite Turnmills) for one last party for Ray because we love him and he loves you!
Featuring Craig Gunn, winner of the Turnmills Gallery competition 2006, Subsonica’s co-promoter/resident and iDJs One to Watch for 2006 with Symbiosis, HF’s Judge Jules competition winner, Spiritualised and EZ Duzzit resident and currently making waves in all the right places.
We’re also very pleased to be welcoming Kevin Energy and Mark Ashley of The Nu Energy Collective playing an extra special classics trance smackdown that they’ve asked specially to play for Rays retirement. If you have any idea then you’ll be going weak the knees for this amazing set.
Of course the night wouldn’t be complete without the man himself showing you what made him bedrock of parties in every corner of our great country. And if you don’t know what all the fuss is about then you have one last chance to find out for yourself before it’s all over.
In addition to all of this, The EP Lounge boasts some of the best pizzas in the South East of England as voted by The Times, so you’ll be able to catch a bite to eat after work without breaking the bank.
It all kicks off at 19:30 and goes though until midnight and it goes without saying you’ll be missing a once and once only opportunity to see Raymondo play again before he rides off into the (DJ) sunset.
