Friday 14th November is all about the return of Ferry Corsten to The Gallery at Ministry of Sound. Truly one of our most popular headliners, Ferry’s visits are always pure madness and tonight is no exception with Mr Corsten putting in a very special 3 Hour Set! Having been one of our very last headliners to grace the Turnmills hallowed ones and twos way back in March of this year it’s been far too long a wait to have him back but back he is and boy oh boy are we excited.
Ferry Corsten is a true Gallery headliner encompassing a wide range of musical styles and influences in his DJ sets and a continued ability to push the boundaries with cutting edge productions and remixes. Widely known for his roots in the beginnings of the epic trance scene with involvement in pretty much every big trance anthem worth shaking a stick at Ferry has brought us System F, Gouryella and much more whilst always pushing new sounds with tracks such as ‘Rock your Body Rock’ and his most recent release ‘Radio Crash’. An exponent of his own brand of L.E.F. music, Ferry remains a true joy to hear dj bringing all these influences into play to create his trademark, roof raising sets that have made him one of the world’s biggest DJs. Recent ventures have also included a brand new weekly radio show entitled ‘Corsten’s Countdown’ which has rapidly taken its place amongst the biggest and best shows out there for its constantly original tracklistings. Ferry has also just completed another one of his huge Full on Ferry shows in his home country of Holland at the Ahoy at the beginning of November. 20,000 people and a massive line-up of the world’s best DJs all flocked to see this maestro at work and they are not wrong in their belief!!! Tonight we are hugely privileged to welcome Ferry back for a 3 hour showcase in the Box for his first Gallery outing at the Ministry of Sound. We know it will be truly special and implore you not to miss out on his only London appearance till 2009.
Not just content with bringing one of the finest purveyors of all things Loud Electronic and Ferocious to town. We have rounded off the line-up in the Box with one of Ferry’s brightest apprentices to have appeared on his Flashover Recordings imprint, Rafael Frost. Another DJ we are proud to have debuted in the UK back in November 07 Rafael has been a consistent producer of top draw tracks such as ‘Mute Your Mind’, ‘Out of Time’ and ‘Run to You’ all on Ferry’s superb Flashover label. Remixes for anthems such as ‘Life Less Ordinary’ cemented Rafael’s position as a bright young star and will provide the perfect soundtrack to get things going in the Box. With a heavyweight trance line-up it is only right to call on our trancier residents to join the fray and we are lucky to be able to draw on some of the best talent out there. First up is John Askew who’s most recent album ‘Z List Uber Star’ is one of his best pieces of work to date and that is seriously saying something. A true legend and champion of the scene we are lucky to enjoy his unique DJ sets and tonight will be no exception with John taking to the Box, a room he knows better than most to do his thing. With Gavyn Mytchel on early warm up duties and The Viceroy taking up the closing set once more it’s all set for the usual fireworks and lazer reaching madness… you’ve been warned!
The Bar meanwhile plays host to one of the scenes recent success stories Mass Recordings. Label by day and party provider by night Mass Recordings continues its love affair with The Gallery by once more taking up the honour of hosting the Bar and welcoming a true legend to headline proceedings. Steve Lee, the original Gallery resident, has taken the Bar to pieces time after time since our move to Ministry and remains the true champion jock of the room. Tonight he joins Mass Recordings resident and label boss Kieran Brindley and new breed talent Jordan Peak, Neil Brown b2b Spencer T, Francis Renato and Gordy B to do the damage all over again! The Baby Box meanwhile is hosted by Funkin London, whilst the Lounge plays host to Classique with support from Paul Morrell, Steve Arnold, Ian Solano and Richard Lee Costello.
