The Chemical Brothers present Glint at Turnmills on Saturday 22nd May 2004. This will be the band’s third Glint event with Turnmills in their series of occasional parties and the night will also mark their first club outing since the huge Together event held at Turnmills on NYE.
Tom & Ed Chemical have recently picked up the “Best International Act” at the DanceStar Awards 2004 and are holed-up in the studio working on the follow up to "Come With Us". The release date is yet to be confirmed, but you can rest assured that The Chem’s will be road-testing some of their new material exclusively at Glint in May.
Here’s Tom & Ed speaking ahead of the gig…
“After an amazing NYE at Turnmills we are really excited to be coming back to one of the best clubs in the world to do a Glint party. It’s always a real buzz to play in such a brilliant atmosphere and the fact that we feel so relaxed/free in Turnmills means we plan to play music fresh from the studio. We are writing and recording right up until the night, so we should have lots of new mind bending chemical music to unleash!!”
With The Chemical Brothers playing live at Glastonbury, Oxygen Festival (Ireland) and Scotland’s T in the Park Festival later on this summer, May’s Glint event will be their first UK appearance of 2004.
As with previous Glint parties, The Chemical Brothers will be joined on the night by one of their early inspirations – Moonboots, a man who first met Tom and Ed whilst working behind the counter of Eastern Bloc records in Manchester. The electric and the eclectic Justin Robertson also returns to Glint to headline the Back Room, fresh from his storming Together residency at Turnmills. Plus look out for bar and grill man Frank Tope and his magic fingers, whilst Glint resident Nathan Detroit stokes it up in the man room prior to Tom and Ed and their Block-Rockin-Beats!! Vegetable Vision Sound System meanwhile return to host Room 3.
As with all Glint events, The Chemical Brothers will be collecting donations on the night for Barts Cancer Research Centre.
