300% Nu Energy CD Launch @ Cyberdog - Review

Reported by spacekitten / Submitted 04-09-03 14:30

Wow!! Wot a wicked party it is when the guests have such a blinding time they want to shag the hosts!!! What can I say? If you missed the FREE (yes, free!) Nu Energy Collective/Atomic Energy party at Cyberdog last Saturday to launch the 300% Nu Energy CD, you missed a kickin’ party, but you’ll get the general idea if you check out the ‘how good a night was THAT?’ forum...

Cyberdog provided a top venue for the night with everyone completely forgetting they were in a shop and just totally avin’ it and dancing their tits off!

With its funky décor, super friendly staff, hi-tech decks (well, they looked high tech to me, ok??) and BIG sound system, Cyberdog was a nice change from the usual suspects and had a great vibe. Anyone thinking of putting on a party should seriously consider it.

Alcohol had to be purchased from Mingling Bar across the way (sorry nobody told you where to get the booze, Mark!!!!!!!!) but it seemed to work well with people using the path in between as an impromptu chill-out area.

A big up to all the Djs: the cream of the Nu Energy Collective, and Atomic Energy. The disco was well n truly rocked with top sets from the oh-so-well-matched B2Bs.

Phil Abel and Soylent: you started the night brilliantly even though crankin’ it up at 7pm must have felt a bit strange....niiiiice one guys!!

De-Cent and Orange Peel: Atomic Energy residents - got any of us sitting on the sidelines cos we thought it was too early to boogie, up on the floor and shakin’ our collective (pun intended) asses.

Andy Vinal and Matt Style: had to be one of the most popular duos on the night, wicked, wicked set and both doing a sterling job valiantly trying to hold up the Nu Energy Collective banner in the background while the other was spinning tunes.

Kevin Energy: wot can I say? the man’s a legend and played a typically kickin’ set.

Mark Ashley: wot a finale! on fire and played a lot of great tracks from the 300% CD and made sure we all disappeared into night in party mode. As he said: "top crowd, top venue, top night - SORTED!!"

Kevin Energy is, apparently, STILL grinning from ear to ear. His post on HF sez it all really:

"wOOOOOOOO wow and raaahhhHHHHHH I'm over the moon from the weekend. I knew we would have a great fun party but I didn't expect the turn out and support that we received.

All the staff @ Cyberdog were more then happy with our gathering and have asked us back so keep an eye out @ www.nuenergy.co.uk for more party info. As it happens i'm planning another free party for October at a bigger venue so make sure you subscribe to our mailing list at www.nuenergy.co.uk to receive info to your inbox.

A HUGE thanks to everybody that came and made it a night to remember and a HUGE thanks to the DJ's for being on top form. I hope you all continued the night in the same way that you started it."

Atomic Energy’s De-Cent was also well pleased with the turnout.

"We’re ecstatic with the response and the massive atmosphere we achieved. It was apparently the busiest night Cyberdog have had there and no doubt we were the best due to the huge atmosphere! Our following was awesome, building on the madness of the music that the team of Dj's brought to the party.

Atomic Energy and the Nu Energy Collective are massively on the up now and it’s great to see people appreciate us for sticking to our principles and keeping the underground vibe alive and kicking!"

Bring on the next one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you didn’t buy a copy of 300% Nu Energy on the night (shame on you!) you can get your very own copy by visiting the online store at www.nuenergy.co.uk

The Nu Energy Collective has two upcoming live PAs: this Friday 5 September for Total Mayhem at The Fridge and Saturday 20 September for Logic Vs Frantic at Camden Palace. See the What's On guide for more details.

You can also catch Mark Ashley (along with an awesome line-up including Group 185, Orpheus 2, Fordy, Rubec, David Holmes, The *Ting*, and Type 1 in the Full On Arena at the next Atomic Energy party on Saturday 25 October at the EQ Warehouse: watch www.atomicenergy.co.uk for details)

Thanks to Nickos for the great photos!
