K90 says happy birthday to Logic!

Hard working, prolific, exciting; just a few choice words you could tag onto Mark Doggett, better known as K90. In fact we could probably sit here all day and think of ways to verbalise Mark and his music. As one of the best loved live PA’s in the hard dance scene Mark needs no real introduction to the faithful. His career to date has seen him play at nearly every hard dance night in the UK from Goodgreef to Godskitchen, Frantic to Antiworld and so much more. With every performance being full of energy he never fails to impress his fans.
When not performing his Live PAs or DJing, Mark is a prolific producer, delivering his unmistakable hard trance style. His latest release Ghosts in the Machine 2007 has been receiving great reviews like 5/5 from both DJ Magazine and IDJ Magazine. But his career has spanned many years and many, many other much loved releases have emerged from his studio such as Bombjack, Breath and the massive Red Snapper to name but a very small selection from his back catalogue. It’s these tracks along with his ever present new releases that get the fans going in his PAs but just how does he find the time to keep pumping out tune after tune? God only knows!
Of course having graced the Logic stage many, many times, it wouldn’t have been right to celebrate the 8th birthday without his presence. So before his live PA, our little present to your on our birthday on the 28th July I fired a few questions at him.
Hi Mark, how are you and what have you been up to?
I’m all good thank you! What have I been up to? Well, let’s just say I work in the studio during the day and play out and party at the weekend! The middle bit you’ll just have to work out for yourself!
So what new productions have you been working on recently?
Yeah, got load’s of stuff on the go at the moment. I’m continuing work on my next artist album which is at about the half way stage, plus I’ve got a couple of remixes penned in the schedule. One for Matt Darey called Animal which is a superb electro rock track and one for Vinylgroover called The Process which is also a brilliant track with a very catchy piano hook.
You are playing at Logic’s 8th birthday on the 28th July. Of course this is not the first time you have played Logic, so do you have any funny memories you wish to share?
Logic was always normally a regular slot in the diary a couple of years ago so I’m pretty well versed in the ways of the Logic boys and girls. I’ve always had plenty of fun and games when I’ve played at Logic and any funny memories I do have I’d rather keep to myself!
And any that you’d care to forget?
That’s the trouble, I have forgotten! I just know that when I play or have played for Logic I’ve always had a rockin’ time!
Will you be bringing with you any new tracks or “presents” to the birthday?
Definitely, I’ll be playing most of the new stuff I’ve written for my new album, mixes from my latest release Ghosts in the Machine 2007, oh and a few of the favourites of course!
Do you remember your 8th birthday?
You’re having a giggle aren’t you? I don’t remember my last birthday! (Wonder who’s to blame for that! - Ed)
Lol, but do you remember what presents you got?
I dunno, football boots probably! I had new football boots for most of my pre sixteen birthdays! After that I had to buy them myself!
Who are you going to be watching whilst your at Logic?
You know, I get asked this question a lot in interviews and to be honest (and I’m not being disrespectful to any of the other DJ’s and artists on the line up) when I’ve finished my live set, all I wanna do is relax, kick back and have a few beers backstage and catch up with all the Logic gossip I’ve missed out on in the last couple of years!
Your one of the most well known and best loved Live PA’s in hard dance. Is there any specific moment or memory you have which you’re most proud of?
I couldn’t pinpoint any particular moment because there’s been quite a few. All I can say is that every time I play live, DJ or release something I feel proud of what I have achieved with my music and how it makes people feel.
If you could relate any wise words that you received as a child to the users of Harderfaster what would they be?
Keep it in your trousers!
