Home, by Shaman's Dream & Geometrae, has been a favourite of mine for a while so it was always inevitable I'd get excited when a remix edition was announced. Remixes of the singles are out now, some are anyway, on Black Swan and now the full album is out. Remixes come from Akriza, The Great Medicine Show, Peace Sine and Liquid Bloom & Bloomurian among others.
If the original album was calm and benign and chilled, this remix edition flips it on its head with numerous remixes. Liquid Bloom & Bloomurian's take of Humming With The Wind is a personal fave of mine. Liquid Bloom's collab with Porangui, Kuya Sessions : Sol Remixed, is available now, by the way, on Sol Creation.
This remixes edition of Home is a nice companion piece to the original album. Its retakes shine whole new angles on their respective works and open new pathways. Which, ironically, is what remix editions of albums should do. And this one works. Its lovely.
